"Leaving A Mark" is a collection that represents my sister and four of the friends who faithfully walked through our two-year adoption process alongside me and left an indelible mark. They saw and heard all the pain, mess, struggle, confusion, and longing, and they boldly believed when I couldn't, prayed when there was little to say, hoped and wished for our little guy as much as we did, and helped keep my eyes fixed on Jesus. Each painting is named for something that reminds me of them.

"Sunrise, Sunset" is named after one of my dear discipleship group friends. I named this painting what I did because she is, DAILY, in awe at the wonder of the sunrise, sunset, rainbows, owls (her favorite), all the things God has made. Her admiration for the creativity of God has often made me stop and admire in the same way. Also, did I mention I've actually known her husband since kindergarten?! I couldn't be more grateful that my friendship with him brought me to her! She would literally give you the shirt off her back. She is so wildly generous and hospitable. Truly gifts from the Lord. A friend who cried with me and was the first person I saw the morning after we matched with our little guy's birth mom. Oh, the joy we felt as we cried and hugged praising the Lord.
